Our goal as creators is to provide instrumentalists with new and exciting effects.
We create unique stomp boxes inspired by sounds and features often associated with synthesizers, computers, and racks of unwieldy gear. Hologram specializes in pedals that reinterpret your playing into droning ambient pads, choppy pitch-shifted patterns, chaotic musical glitches and dramatic sci-fi swells.
By merging precise customization with exciting unpredictability, our devices offer an experience unlike anything else. We aim to provide infinitely tweakable settings and wild sounds (from subtle to striking) neatly packed under an intuitive control surface. We hope you find our equipment useful as a tool for both arranged performance and experiments into randomized creativity.

Microcosm and Chroma Console with Guitar
In this video, we hook up a guitar to Chroma Console and Microcosm to create a pretty otherworldly signal chain.
On Chroma Console, we put Swell at the end of the chain, which effectively creates a gate for all of the effects preceding it when no signal is traveling through the pedal. This, paired with Pitch, Space, and Cassette create a really unique sound before feeding the signal into Microcosm.
Microcosm's Arp D effect then latches onto the most recent sample/note and applies some rhythmic pitch-shifting and sample reduction, making it sound more like a synthesizer than a guitar.

Microcosm and Chroma Console being used in tandem to create a super dynamic/glitchy drum processing chain 🎛 Microcosm's Tunnel presets (secret sauce for percussive sounds) track your input signal and do a bunch of wild granular processing in realtime. In this video, you'll hear how quickly Microcosm tracks the incoming drums and spits out weird time-stretched samples and other miscellaneous spa...

Dream team. Microcosm is clocking Chroma Console and the Moog’s arpeggiator. First recorded a loop of the Moog arpeggiator on Microcosm (while going through the Warp D Preset), then ran it through a nice lofi patch (Sweeten Phaser Space Cassette) on Chroma Console. #shorts

@HologramElectronics dope jam! What kind of bass guitar / pickup combo is that?
Love mine! 😻
@hologram Can you please make a Chroma Console album with all these demo tracks fleshed out? 😃🤩 I would listen to it for days.
Showed everything but the DAW ❤
They are so good at marketing
What a cool lush sound this piece produces. This vid wants me to have one of these ❤
Fuck yes
When is the Chroma Console be back in Thomann inventory in Europe?
we are a direct-to-consumer company and are not supplying any dealers with our pedals. For more info on that, you can check out this page: www.hologramelectronics.com/international-ordering
@@HologramElectronics wow thanks for your response! Do you have any promo codee for first time customers?
“Here’s my clean tone….”
Is there any other box involved? Or does it loop too? And have a mic? I’m confused.
The whole input in this video is an external mic. Microcosm does granular synthesis, looping, and sophisticated effects.
@@PeterKoperdan is the mic directly plugged in? Is there a pre-amp, or any pre processing occurring?
@@TheTeaguecowley The OP said the mic goes into an audio interface with pre-amp but that's it.
Your gear is very uniqe . Do you have videos how to connect the chroma console with modern MPC‘s ? That would be great 🙂
That beat was so good. I just started watching recently and actually just bought a chroma console. This video made me want to get that digitak. I’ve been thinking about getting a drum machine but unsure which is the move. This may have helped me make up my mind on that
Wonderful video, as always Matt. Thanks for putting it together. Both Chroma Console and Microcosm are my desert island pedals. Love them so much.
Excellent stuff, almost as cool as your shirt. I hear people on forums saying microcosm is a one trick pony. They really should watch sine of your videos.
Cool. Are you direct recording all of this (guitar straight into interface) o is there other processing/preamp applied to the guitar? Thanks
Great video I have the microcosm but I’m a bit confused over which patch to use for best results on pads or an arp or a sequence This video told me to use drums with Tunnel and I got desired results. Anyone has any tips on what works best with which preset. Highly appreciate ❤any inputs 🙏🙏
so does the drift on the reverb change the depth and the rate of the modulation? the manual doesn't specify and here he just says "to my ears" but i can't quite tell if the depth did indeed change
The Chroma Console is a very unique pedal. With just a slight move to any knob you always get sonic bliss that works well with recording. I dont have the Microcosm but its on my list.
Who do I contact about endorsements
Impressive ❤
Hopefully in 3 weeks ill be grabbing one
Can y‘all make the Pedals more accessable for Musicians from the Eu?
we ship to the EU everyday! We just don't work with dealers in part because working with dealers would make our products more expensive. our products are available at the lowest possible cost because we are a direct to consumer company.
Is it possible to use a reverse effect with the looper?
watch the video
The ending was amazing 😂
Awesome! Great demo, fun to watch, feels very creative. I have the hologram, chroma looks really fun.
Hologram is the manufacturer, not the pedal. What you have is the Microcosm.
@@saggygnaw Oh yes
@@saggygnaw Late night 😅
How did you make the distorted sound in the intro ? Guitar thru Chroma and Moog Matriarch ? Sounds fantastic 🤩
Yep, guitar into Chroma Console and also layered with Moog going into Chroma. The guitar sound is made from the following effects in the following order: Doubler > Reels > Space > Fuzz
The Microcosm is amazing and so great you’re doing demonstrations of your own creative processes and you use it is very helpful…and it arrived in the UK within a few days. Thanks for producing such a great product. I saw the review in Sound on Sound.
Very cool. So is this just direct guitar? No amp? That never would have occurred to me, but it works.
yep, just DI in. for these instructional/tutorial style videos, we like to keep the sound as neutral as possible so you can hear what the pedals are doing without much additional coloration/processing. Also DI can just sound better in some occasions!
@@HologramElectronics Sometimes I get tripped up trying to decide the order of things. Pre or post amp, effects loop, or as an outboard send... I'm inspired now to just keep it simple next time I jump in. Thanks!
@@bucklebean sure thing! you can always change your mind with DI and reamp it through an amp if you wanted to later
I don’t regret buying these rigs. The sonics from them is amazing.
thanks!
Got both pedals, no other pedal needed EVER ✨ thank you guys
Get an axe fx bro
Yo...both excellent pedals. Do not regret the purchases AT ALL!
I could get lost for days with these effects.
Wow
Holy cow! 😧
Fun stuff
lowkey a sleeper video
lowkey a sleeper video
Dope!
This looks really cool!
i’m new to producing and sound design and all that but what does the midi out do for the chroma console? it’s kinda been confusing me cause i don’t see a lot of people using that output
Hi . I think you can sync the chroma console to the tempo of your sequencer for delay time etc.
yep, the MIDI output is to sync other gear to Chroma Console's clock
crazy
👏 awesomeness
holy shit i love this so much i need one
I wonder if i can go from MPC to Chroma back to the MPC
Needed to see this being that i have a MPC live
Are you using timecode via a midi setup? I don’t know if I missed that part of the setup in the video. Is that explained?
The Digtakt (drum machine here) is providing the clock for both devices.
@@HologramElectronics i'm assuming via a midi connection? Or is it USB?
@@DarrinNoNAME yup, 5 pin MIDI
someone can purdy shuffle :) nice one man
den chroma hab ich im focus...
I don’t need it but I WANT IT
Amazing 🙌🏼
